Dpf and cooling.

Postby Neilh1 » Thu Jan 15, 2026 9:43 pm

Hi

Have a 2019 new model transit jumbo 2.0L red

Have lots of issues with dpf cleaning coming on the shows full etc
Clears with a reset. But on everyday.

Now have engine management light on and spanner light.
Dashboard temp gauge barely moves even when pushing the engine.
Had to squeeze the cooling water hoses in and out of the aux water pump? This has cleared the spanner alarm before then do a reset and all alarms cleared.
Now this is not working.
Lights staying on. Have full power still.
Hardly any heat into the cabin.
Water header tank does not drop or smell.
Seems to be happening now in the cold weather.
Have changed sensor to A bank on turbo and the turbo has been changed. Same issue.
Cannot get temp up to be able to do an regen on forscan.

Seems bumpy roads and speed bumps can set off dpf cleaning .

Any suggestions?? Thanks

why do you think doing a reset every day on the dpf will cure the problem , you need to diagnose and sort the problems , trying to regen a blocked dpf would do more harm than good

Do not do a forced regen everyday.
Have done about 4 in 18 months.
The temp doesn’t get high enough now to do one anyway.
When done regen on forscan always says dpf in range anyway.
Can’t find out why it comes up nearly everyday to do a clean.
I think a faulty wire loom or something but now have the temperature issue.

Yup you have a temperature issue
could be failed thermostat
failed sensor
not unknown -- we had one last year, aux pump permanently on from stuck relay.

and you've ordered the new thermostat ,.. so one thing at a time, that may sort it .

all the best.mark
