I have a 2016 Custom 2.0 engine , but since I bought it used, it has always been very slow to rev up at around 1,500/2,000 rpm.
Even after chip tuning, it has gained a lot of horsepower above 2,500 rpm, but below that it continues to be particularly slow (EGR disabile by remap and blanked by plate).
Yesterday tried some checks as they say on the internet.
-The turbo actuator seems to work well, physically looking at it, with the engine off it is completely open, when the engine is started it closes everything, when accelerating it remains closed and then progressively moves to open.
-turbo pressure seems to be present in all gears, however also looking at the "commanded boost pressure" It seems that for the first 3/4 seconds it increases but too slowly, after jump, This creates bad drive (ON/OFF effect)..
But I can't quantify whether it's a small thing (and normal wear or fatigue after 100k) or if it caused by something that is not working properly but does not generate obvious error codes.
Is there any mechanic who is an expert in these values (unfortunately, it is difficult to find real Transit experts in Italy)?
Has anyone ever checked these values on their van?
Thank you
PS
I disabled "traction control" TCS, but it doesn't seem to make any difference.
