Burnt clutch

Postby Gray Glover » Mon Feb 09, 2026 9:03 pm

Hi all newbie here,
So my situation is that i got bogged down in my 2017 2.5 long wheel base transit, without a doubt i have burnt the clutch out but i am wondering if any other damage has been caused and which parts will need replacing- i literally have to stand and press on the clutch for any kind of action?

You say you have burnt out the clutch what is it actually doing is it slipping or can you not get it in gear if a clutch is burnt out it wilt be slipping or no driver at all if you can’t get it in gear then it’s a problem with the hydraulic system could be as simple as air in the system.

There is a constant ‘burnt’ smell and I have to virtually stand up on the clutch to engage any gear, the biting point is then virtually at the top. I have since noticed a fluid dripping when I start the van and engage a gear
