Ford Transit 2.2: Fuel is not reaching the injectors.

Postby aReddington » Fri Feb 13, 2026 6:39 pm

Hello, my 2.2 155 hp car has fuel coming from the fuel tank to the high-pressure pump, the tank runs, but no fuel is reaching the injectors from the high-pressure pump. The fuel isn’t reaching the injector rail either. FRP pressure isn’t rising, so the car won’t start. There are no DTC codes. The CKP and CMP sensors have been replaced. The high-pressure pump is new. The FRP sensor has been replaced. I’d appreciate any ideas to help.

If fuel is reaching the high-pressure pump but FRP isn’t rising during crank, focus on control and pressure regulation. Check the IMV on the pump and its wiring, as a faulty or non-powered IMV will prevent rail pressure build. Inspect the rail pressure relief valve for being stuck open. Perform an injector leak-off test, confirm proper priming / no air in system, and verify with live data that the ECU is commanding rail pressure. If FRP shows no movement at all, it’s usually a metering or pressure bleed-off issue, not CKP/CMP related.

Euro-5 doesn't have a relief valve on the rail.
