Airbag light flashing after Forscan mistake.

Postby Dagrib » Tue Jun 16, 2026 10:46 pm

Hi,, everyone.
I'm looking for some help.
I have a 2010 Ford Transit Duratorq that I accidentally set the RCM to European settings when using Forscan for the first time and I don't know how to get it back to RHD to stop the airbag light flashing.
I bought the van about 3 years ago and have been doing maintenance on it bit by bit. Fixed squeaks, knocks, bangs, faulty locking mechanisms etc. Got lots of new stuff. The most recent is an EGR valve and Turbo because it was going into limp mode. It went into limp mode straight after I changed the new turbo so I got Forscan and a connector after reading that the EGR valve and Turbo need to relearned.
Anyway, I sat on the laptop by mistake while messing around today and did something to set the RCM to a model on the European market. Which is LHD vehicles.
I have tried to look up the original build data with the VIN on a website to change it back to RHD but the page doesn't exist anymore with the file and there's no saved internet page.
I didn't even find anything to reset the EGR or Turbo either after 5 or 6 hours working between the phone, laptop and software.
I don't know what t do now so any suggestions would be great. I spent the last week welding the chassis to get it ready for the CVRT test and the sticky Turbo. If anyone has the codes or knows where I can get them to change it back that would be great.
Look forward to hearing from you.

Have you tried getting the AsBuilt data from here: https://www.motorcraftservice.com/AsBuilt/

Hi, yes. I used my VIN as stated above but the page and information doesn’t exist anymore. Which is just my luck. No saved web pages for it either when I checked. I think I can buy a new/used RCM as I read in another post and it should fix tge problem but that still leaves the going into limp mode with the new EGR and new Turbo.
I found an old number 2 piston restriction code from sometime ago. It doesn’t flash up now but the van runs like a bag of hammers when it starts. The puff of smoke that I thought was turbo seals has happened again too. The old turbo was extremely hard to open so it’s definitely sticky and the new one did it no harm. Hopefully.
