lt's the inferred soot level that shoots up within 10 miles. The DPF guy said that the ECU estimates soot levels based on driving style and other parameters such as fuel/air ratio.
l've monitored the differential pressure and it's within the normal range at all speeds. The regeneration when it occurs is successful (EGT 600degC, soot level down to zero)
During the next 10-20 miles the soot level barely reaches 1 (regeneration normally occurs at around 20) but the inferred soot level gets up to over 80%, triggering another regeneration.
The DPF guy spent half an hour messing with it and said the fault was "before the DPF".
