clutch cable hassle.

Postby kustomtony » Tue Dec 20, 2005 5:06 pm

i have just fitted a sierra 2.3 diesel engine and 5 speed gearbox into my 1960 mk ford zephyr, it was quite an easy swap but the clutch is giving me a bit of hassle.
i need to route the cable under the dash so it faces the bulkhead as the sierra cable needs to pull, i have been told to use a 2.0 petrol transit clutch cable as these are just the job
my question is..........which year/model transit has the longest cables?.....and do older transits have an adjustable clucth cable instead of the ratchet pedal thing.
thanks guys

How disapointing with a name like kustomtony i was expecting a custom mk1 transit!!! :(
anyway yes the earlier mk1s and 2's dont have the ratchet adjuster i'd have thought the cable you want would be a mk2 one the early mk1s had a more complecated system using a small cable and a long adjuster rod if i remember right!!
:D
