Rear brakes locking up

Hi to all.....newbie to your superb site that i just cant drag myself away from!
Have a couple of questions, one of my rear brakes locks up with medium pressure applied. Ive changed the shoes and the cylinders fairly recently. It did it before this work and is still doing it now. Its a bit scary when the rear end trys to overtake the front in the wet! Its a 95 2.5 td swb 100.

Other question is about lowering it. What parts would i need to lower it all round?

And last question, i think my turbo has seen better days, it stil pulls great but i think the seals may have gone due to the amount of oil its started to use. Also the induction pipe (turbo to cooler/inlet manifold) is weeping oil and the inlet manifold is full of a really thick black sludge. Question is, is this normal or do i have shot turbo?

rear brakes - probly the load sencing valve!

lowering - how low?? front would be pritty easy with custom made springs rear is more difficult!!

turbo - but dont sound too good to me

King Springs over here (australia) do some lowered front srings for your van

Leaf springs need to be pulled apart and reset, im getting this done soon

My turbo seems to leak oil quite a lot into the inlet manifold. With the price of new or even re-con units so high I'm reluctant to replace it. The engine doesn't use oil too quickly so I'm not too worried.
I've fitted a turbo gauge so that I can monitor the turbo pressure (also helps me increase fuel economy) hopelfully if it drops off I'll spot it and replace the turbo before burning all the engine oil.

I remember years ago on MK1 & 2 escorts were lowerd, they used lowing blocks, is this not possible with the transit?

I don't think it's possible to use blocks, bear in mind this had been built to be a load carrier, and has been enginered to do that. Have you got coil springs? I have leaf springs like sundowner so don't know about other stuff.

this isnt possable cos on the tranny the axle is under the leaf spring on the mk2 escort it is on top
so loweing blocks will raise the van

i wouldnt worry to much about the turbo they are strong units and if looked after you will easily get 200k out of it both our td hicubes leak oil into the manifold and neither seem to use any oil it just needs the inlet manifold cleaning out every 50k or so

is it possible to take the inlet manifold off without removing the injection pump. It looks to me like the pump has to come off in order to get to one of the manifold bolts. And the rear manifold bolt looks a bugger aswell!
As far as the blocks are concearned........think i'll leave them and maybe just get bigger wheels
