Mk 1 Petrol Fuel Pump Help!

Postby monkman » Sat Feb 11, 2006 11:56 am

My Mk1 2l petrol Tranny stopped dead last weekend. Won't start, battery fine, good spark but petrol not coming through from tank. In deperation i have bought new pump and fitted, still no good. Blown fuel lines still no difference and yes there is plenty of petrol in the tank. Petrol comes through when i suck (don't want to do that again!)

Where do i go from here? i want my pride anf joy on the road again!!

:? well there is a problem here then ,1 how much gasket have you fitted to the new pump????? if it is to far out it will not contact the fibre wheel indside the front caseing!
2 what you could do if the pump is new take it back and go and buy a eletric petrol pump if you think this is the problem , use your old pump chop the end off it and use that as a blanking plate!
