quickie! diagnostic fault code

Does anyone know what a code P0650 actually means? I've just had my diagnostic thingy read by a garage who dont understand Ford codes but have told me the code is P0650

after a trawl through the internet all it refers to is

Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) Control Circuit Malfunction


any ideas?

If you do a search for MIL you will get a few topics relating to the light but alas not the fault code. Nighthawk is probably your man for this unless anyone else knows.

van running great - no problems at all. Had a new speedo head fitted recenty, could be that?

Does your service warning light work?

I've seen the code for this pop up for a couple of reasons, one was caused by a hire company removing the bulb for the service light.

Another cause was a corrected on a calibration update.

This on a 2.0 ?

This is on a 2.4 di (new shape 2001). It had an engine transplant and has done it ever since. they reset it yesterday and it just started again.
