hi i have a mk 3 transit with a coachbuilt body the rear shocks have
valves comming out the side it has not been used for over a year and
only done 200 miles since 2003 so i thought i should reset the presher
just been out to cheek it and one does not apear to have any presure
and the other hised slowly when i took the cap of any idears whot presure
i should put in i think they are just air and not hydulastic as there was no
fluid comming out just air i can not see a makers name just a stiker with
ET on it

You have a set of jacker type air shocks, if you hauling a heavy load or a big trailer, boat and your suspension compresses too far you simply add air to your shocks to level out your vehical

They're like a normal gas/oil type shocks but with the top bell section sealed off as the air chamber

Normally the two are linked to one common valve so that both raise at the same rate

One draw back of air shocks is that they can over load the shock mounts and shear them off, I think they have been out lawed in Australia for these reasons, but we have a similar thing called polly springs its an air bag that goes inside a coil spring or on top of a leaf spring so that its loading up the spring mount
Yeah i know its big green and rusty so move your Porsche before i bash it with 460 cubes of fords finest cast iron
