when i used to run my ratty 1.6 D fiesta and me capri i was forever welding em, i had an old sierra sat on me drive and had ran out of sheet stock. the sierra became the outside metal store! any time i need to patch something i would draw round a template and chop out what i needed, when i finaly scrapped the sierra the guy from the salvage yard was supprised at the size of the rats round our way

How about if the sheet metalworking company make household items like filing cabinets and pc cases?

This will most likely only apply to our fellow Transit comrades who live in China.

I don't think a British firm could produce the bolts to hold the thing together for the price of an entire tower c/w PSU from our friends in the far east (and i don't mean Norwich!!). Global economy eh!
Imagine if Ford sourced the spares from them, that would bring the prices down, then again profits up would be the most likely.
If it goes, then it's good!!

I know what you mean.I was suprised to see that the grinding wheels on a Sealey bench grinder were made in China although the casing didn't give any clue as to its origins.Years ago stuff like that had to say where it came from,I personally would rather not sell anything from the far east because I object of the trade in dog and cat fur amongst other things, but as you see its rather tricky trying to guess where stuff supplied by companies (even those with english sounding names) comes from.

Good for you, baconsdozen, it's nice to see other people care about the horrendous things that go on in the world & aren't just interested in what they can get. :D
