i have a 52 lwb hi roof 2.3 bi fuel transit it has central locking which when i bought it 2 weeks ago was fine but now when i press the lock button on the key fob all the doors lock and then they unlock even if i try with the key in the door i have tried cleaning all the contacts on the doors {sliding door} i have made sure the doors are all closed but still the same can anyone help or is it a auto electrician job

Usually this is down to a door open or a sticky door lock but as you said you have looked at these. Try some wd40 on the catches. Can you sit inside and manually activate the locking? Is the sliding door contactor contacting?

I had this with my van. It was one of the wires had chafed through at the drivers back door. Just remove the panel in the door and you'll probably see it (I hope) :lol:

That was the symptons I had though, all the doors would lock and then unlock :wink:
Even if you don't need it, grab it.

if i sit inside and lock them its just the same, i can lock the rear door from inside but the rest wont lock they just keep unlocking.

Yeah because the van thinks that there is a door open, which is why no matter what you do, the doors won't lock, even with the key. If it's not the rear door lock, it will probably be a break in one of the wires to the other locks. I guess it's normally the rear as the wires are moving about a lot when you extend the doors open. :D

cool you are the daddy it was wires inside back door panel 4 of them were either broke or chaffed thanks very much everyone for your help
