how to mark up fuel pump before removing

hi, guys seals gone on my fuel pump have managed to get it repaired for
£70 + vat ,but i need to take the pump off i need to no how to mark up the pump so as i dont muck up the timing!can anyone tell me step by step
what i need to do the van is a 1992 transit swb100 2.5d non turbo with a lucas cav pump thanks in advance for any advise

you need to set it to the pin stops and leave the pins in the cam and flywheel , remove the plastic front cover and then the cam belt

the pump can then be removed

if you are asking this then i am guessing you have little experiance on the di ,if so a haynes manual will be a must first buy to get you through this
they are only £15 ish and well worth it

scribe a mark on both the pump and casing before you remove it so you can bolt it back up in the exact position it came off

The pump will go back in the correct position because the 3 mounting bolts into the timing plate don't allow it to move. Some even had a small dowel in the timing plate to ensure a perfect alignment.

Once you have the pin in the flywheel, camshaft and pump the timing belt fitment is pretty easy. and there's enough information on here to help you nail it.

If you do get stuck, there are some great peeps on here who'll be more than willing to assist.
