ENGINE IDENTITY

Postby jimbo » Tue Apr 04, 2006 4:11 pm

Hello fellow transit fans .I am having an identity crissis with my mk 2 camper van .I need to know if she has a D I motor or a York motor so many so called experts have looked but so far no one has given me a deffinate answer . I think I should change the timing belt if there is one . The van is registered as a 1982 and the log book says that the CC is 2400 . I went to get an oil filter today and the guy in the shop said that it was on the change and that he couldnt find a cross refference for the numbers I gave him off the old filter ,I dont think he could be bothered if the truth be known shant go ther again !. I have looked on the engine and cannot see any heater plugs and she allways starts first time even when iced up so there must be some form of cold start . So come on guys lets see how good you are give me a deffinate id PLEASE

As long as the engine is original, it will be a york.

has yours got the paper element type oil filter inside a metal canister, an an inline minimec injection pump?
