Isn't the track (wheel to wheel) wider on a mk4 and mk5 compared to a a mk3 :?:

i'm pritty sure it is - havent accuratly measured it but the difference may be on the hubs - which are different :!: im sure as ive had them side by side mk3-mk4 :D

no by the hubs i mean what the stud goes through :D

the only difference when fitting a late mk5 rack to a mk3 is the track rod ends, the stub axle assembly has smaller holes and you will need to fit the early track rod ends onto the late rack, the threads are the same so they are a direct swap,no hassle.

oh and the bit Mike said about cutting a slot in a bolt is spot on,ive converted bundles of smileys and thats always a problem,the holes rust up,what i normally do is cut three slots at angles around a bolt then plenty of lube and an airgun keep winding the bolt in and out until it runs smooth :D

:D :D ha great i thought they looked the same but didnt want to buy one until i knew thanks alot let u no how i get on just one more thing what pas pump do i use mines a petrol 2ltr pinto cheers :D
