rev counter/speedo

A diesel rev counter only goes up to 6000rpm :? Could this be your problem :?:

i have a set of clocks from a petrol mondeo with cable drive and a diesel one which is electronic
i have swaped both rev counters in the housing both bahaved the same
the d one went round the clock cause it stops at 6000
the p one reads 7000
both work with the engine speed!!

what type of alternator do you have (does it have the 3 terminals) and what year is your van
