Hi lost fifth gear in my R reg 100 lwb 2.5 diesel and had the gearbox pulled and a new 5th gear cog thingie put in to replace the original which had sheared from the its drive spline cog (think thats what it's called.) Anyway the day after getting it out of the garage on pulling up, someone pulled over and told me I had no brake lights. I have since checked the bulbs and also the fuse for the brake lights which all appear OK. Is there anything that the sloppy barstewards* that did the gearbox could have done that would make the brakelights go tits up? Other than that what else could it be?
* Loads of greasy handprints on the doors / handles/ steering wheel, big oil spill mark on the rubber floormat, rubber gear stick "boot" not seated and just thrown back on at a funny angle.
