Yeah OK that was a confusing post!
I have a standard tank, 70l?
Anyway I'm getting between 23mpg and I think 29.8mpg was my best ever.
Interstingly I got about 29mpg when I drove to Ipswitch and back with a loaded car trailer! I guess that must have been because I was limited to 50mph speed limit with the trailer. Still was a bit odd. Sometimes I have thought that the van returns a better mpg when driven hard. Hmm....

Ooops!
Those figures don't add up!
If I was on a long run and getting 29mpg, an entire 70l tank should give me 450m. I don't ever let it run dry though.

Why were you limited to 50?

Going up the A12 with a twin axle trailer.
At least that's what the guy at HSS told me!

If there was a motorway between London and Ipswitch I'd use it! That trip always takes ages :x
As a side note the van towed the car like it wasn't there! Absolutely superb. :D

A tank for me is about 60 - 64 litres.
Before the pump change I was getting approx 300 - 350 per tank, with 350 being the best I ever managed (maybe I need to ease off a bit  ) the first tank after the pump change I got 380 out of the tank (varied driving, some 50mph runs on twisty A roads, and some fast motorway), the next fill I got 360, but this was on the motorway practically all the way (average 70 - 75mph) which was what used to kill my economy with the EPIC pump, it was always around 300 - 320mls per tank for fast motorway driving.
So its a fair improvement for me, although I should add that I'm now using acetone (30ml per fill) as well, which I did not before, so I can't say what difference that is making to the overall economy :?

with my new engine in and my old epic still attached loads of hunting  i went up to stanstead and back last weekend 95mph the whole way there and back on the mway and fast country lane driving i managed the whole trip on 1/2 a tank just over 200 miles with a few detour's    can anyone work out that mpg??
You only need two tools in life: WD-40 and Duct Tape. If it doesn't move and it should, use WD-40. If it moves and shouldn't, use the duct tape.

The fuel guage is so inacurate that the only way to know how much fuel you've used is to fill it right up, drive it and then fill it right up again.
But....
200 miles on 35l = 25.7mpg. At 95mph that's pretty good!

as steve says you cant go on the gauge its not linier so it will never be accurate enough mine did 365 miles to half a tank but when i filled it up i realised it was about 75% empty so the gauge should have been reading 1/4

this is how to work out MPG accuratly copied from another thread!!
Luke wrote:1) fill van tank full
2) reset trip meter
3) drive around untill van needs filling again
4) fill van and get recipt
5) on the recipt will be the litres you have put in multiply the litres by 0.22 this will give you the gallons, then write that number down, look at the trip meter and write that down.
6) divide the miles travelled by the gallons eg 400miles/12gallons=33.3mpg

this is the forumla

miles traveled = mpg
litres x 0.22

obviously its only as accurate as your speedo is but gives as acurate reading as you can get.

I had a GPS/SatNav unit in my van the other day. It was showing about 10% under what my speedo says and they are supposed to be quite accurate. That was only arounf town at 30mph though so it could be better at 60-70.
That would mean my mpg figures are all 10% too high though. :(
