water in drivers side footwell

Hi new to the forum as have only just purchased a long wheel base hi top 100 transit year 2000 smily face. when I picked it up last week the rubber matting was wet underneath and it has stood in my driveway for the last 2 days in the pouring rain. Went out to it a few minutes ago and discovered the matting is wet on the drivers side with a puddle up one corner. Have had a look around but can't find where this has been coming in . I noticed an earlier thread that some transits have a leak underneath the battery tray. Before I disconect this to have a look can anyone tell me if this will upset anything apart from the clock and the radio code. Or does anyone have any other ideas where to look for the leak. have looked at that post but water is not coming from the a frame. do you know the answer to the battery query?

dunno how the battery tray can cause a leak - its on the front part of the inner wing innit??

my hicube had a similar problem but both sides were getting wet, it was a leak around the windscreen on mine (water was travelling along the dash support bar and dripping by the pedals on the drvers side and running down the passenger side bulkhead)
first try taking off the drivers side A pillar trim and looking at the bottom of the windscreen when its raining to see if there is any signs of damp (its a bit easieyer than removing the battery)

hi guys i had the same in my mk 5 after taking the front seats out and floor matt, i had my bro spray a hose pipe in the arches and we found that they had not seam sealed the top strut where the shock goes, the wheel was flicking water up and it would get wet under the matt. i bought some seam aesler and pumped it in there let dry and put it back together, then undersealed the under the arches, that was 4 years ago and its been dry ever since. hope this could help you.

has it got Aerial on the passenger side? these can leak and run down to the step on ontop of the step making it rot

mine leaks and its the windscreen thats causing it. Unfortunatly its a screen out job which i will get around to doing sometime......err .....soon

Nope no areal and just had new screen

It seems to be coming in behind the heater and running down the pipes to the vents it seems to do it when i drive thru puddles
