Bonnet catch

I have just bought a second hand Ford Transit 100 SWB, and tried to open the bonnet from inside the cab as my battery is dead, the catch seems broken, please help?

Lie under the front of the van, look up the back of the radiator and you'll be able to see the bonnet latch assembly.

If you've got long arms you can reach up and release the catch, of if have stumpy arms like me you'll need a prodding stick.

There may be a plastic shield over the lever, but you can just move it aside to gain access.
