Postby oilcanmanor » Mon Dec 14, 2009 7:47 pm

Hello everyone - nice to see you :D I've got a battered old trannie, but it's great for my dog and I love it :D

I really need some help please !! The water tank is full of just water and I need to put some anti freeze in, there's no way I can afford to go to a garage so please can someone tell me how to drain the water and replace wiv anti freeze and what type ????

There should be a plastic tap on the bottom of your radaitor just simply drain 2 or 3 milk bottles of water out, tighten up the tap and add the same in antifreeze/summer coolant to your system. Sold at any motor factors. If no tap just loosen a top hose allow same to run away then tighten up again. John L.

Make sure you take the van for a good run afterwards to ensure it is fully mixed with the water throughout the cooling system.

The easiest way is to mix the anti-freeze 50/50 with water in a jug or watering can first and then fill the system. This way you know what you are putting in is the correct strength.
