hi,can anybody tell me whereabouts the crank sensor is on a tdci lwb 2001 , want to clean it to try and resolve a cold start problem,any advice on gettin the fuel filter off too?? as its really tight an wont undo (dont want to break it !) :roll:

on mine tdci 55 redg rwd crank sensor is -looking at engine from front - its back of engine lefthand side on top of the bell housing , you will see a plug with wires, unclip, undo bolt 8mm-10mm cant rember which and slide out, it may have a heat sheild on it some do some dont. fuel filter turn to left and pull down they are tight (need to be) if you clean it up first you will see 2 arrows - these line up to take off and refit, if they dont line up when refitted it wont seal, refill filter with deisel, befor you refit to aid air removal. tdci are a high pressure pump so shouldnt get to much trouble with air in system, if your still having probs cold starting there are a couple of threads running in the mk6 section on this subject.

it wont be tdci on that year though, fwd 02 onwards rwd 04 onwards :wink:

its defo the tdci ! was imported when new from ireland , maybe it was an early power option ??
but on original engine and is the tdci not the tddi

my appoligies "winter heating " it is a tddi ,but someone has put a tdci badge on front and for some reason a 125 turbo on a 120 ps engine...
