The dipstick tube on my 2.5DI is loose. Can anyone tell me the most effective way of resecuring it in the block, or how it was originaly fixed in place?

I have had this a couple of times in the past 
I remove the tube and chemically clean both it, and the hole where it fits, and refit with "Loctite Stud and Bearing Fit"
It needs 24 hours to set before you try and withdraw the dipstick

Thanks for that. I went a step further and welded a strap to the tube so now the top is secured to the injector pump rear mounting.
