ECU

Postby Maltesefalcon » Mon Jan 11, 2010 1:08 pm

Hi All,
I have a 2000cc EFI 8v engine . I know that this engine is also fitted in scorpio and galaxy models. Can anyone tell me what is the difference in the ECU as they have different part numbers?

Thanks

That twin cam engine was used in the late Sierras and Granadas and Scorpios  I'm fairly sure that the Galaxy has a different engine.

Different ECU's would have been used for such things as autoboxes, air con, etc. as well as the vehicle itself needing different engine power.

The early 2.0 galaxy was fitted with the vw golf gti engine !! The later versions had the 16v 2.3 ltr engine best to look on ebay uk for the ecu they are quite common in the UK hope this helps

No, but it is a fact that the early Galaxy did actually use the 8v engine, as it's been mentioned on here when people are looking for a second hand engine for their petrol MK5 Transit :D
