Urgent part number required?

Postby Jim H » Wed Jan 13, 2010 5:34 pm

Help,Just had an injector pipe break ( had to do 130 miles on three cyliders @ 10mpg) Been up to local FORD dealer who can't identify 85ps turbo Di engine cos it's not original to chassis number. The part number I need is for fuel injector pipe for number two cylinder. The engine was manufactured in 1998 and the pipes are original to the lucas epic system that was fitted.

Can anyone please help me with this number? Thanks, Jim. :D

go to nearest scrap yard proberbly will have a set of pipe in a decent transit beakers yard..and wont cost as much as ford and if you asked them nicely or paid a bit more the scrap yard might even fit the injection pipe for you..

Thanks for the suggestion but I really want a new one as the one that's broken has only lasted 20k miles so don't want to risk a second hand one. If anyone can help with the part number I'd be really grateful.

Regards, Jim

I'd try a more helpful parts man. They can look at any van without the reg, all they really need to know is the year of the engine, the output and which pipe you need.

Mr MPuk is right, they can simply "load" Transit '95 on their system, but clearly lazy :!:
