Water in engine?

Was hopeing someone can help on way back from work yesterday i went into a large puddle lost a lot of power, engine managment light came on and when i stepped on acelarator got a lot of smoke, when i got home restarted transit engine managment light still on but it revs up fine. Have just had a new alley buck fitted reely like this motor so pretty scared i have done something awfull, mine is a 2.4 on a 52 plate 90PSI.

Just had RAC to take a look he thinks engine is shaged any one got one going, not a good day.

i think more info needed whats shagged if the engine runs well and revs up freely then unlikly the engine is u/s
maybe somthing that bolts on to the engine ie fuel system

If its had a drink of water it may have bent a Conrod or 4

RAC man did not come untill next morning started up and it sounds terrible, black smoke, will give insurance company a ringt next morning see if covered.

undo inter cooler pipes see if theres any water in, check air filter for water aswell. if its not smoking or missing should be ok.

Easy way to tell is do a compression test.

Guy who took transit to insurance aproved garage said engine is finished not sure but i think the will write it off, i am not sure how much a new engine will cost fitted, all very depressing, perhaps i can do a deal with insurance company?
