I think the rust heaps are made in Southampton, mine certainly is.

I don't know if there is any truth in this, or if it is just a coincidence, but from Mk6 vans I have seen the early ones ie X & Y reg don't seem to rust that much - I have seen some absolute minters driving round. The 51 - 03 reg seem to rust like mad. My 54 reg had some on the sills which I got rid of, so time will tell if it comes back.

Just glad I don't have a Sprinter as they seem worse than Transits for rust.
