Hi, just a curious question, would be interested to know your thoughts,
Mk6 diesel transits, not worried about setting timing or physically replacing pumps, no problem doing that, just the coding bit. Is this correct:
TDCi pump is not coded as just a high pressure pump to commonrail, so straight swap over, and bleed should work ok.
TDDi pump, is coded, however once installed and correctly timed and bled using hand primer, provided that the pump is either brand new (e.g. Never been coded), or refurbed and all codes removed (virginised!), then after fitting you can switch on ignition to position 2 for 60 seconds WITHOUT trying to start the van, wait, turn off ignition and then start van normally. Been told this lets the van ECU "shake hands" with the new pump and it self codes. However if not left long enough before turning ignition off, or if battrey voltage isn't sufficient or pump is already coded then the transfer fails and Van will need to be put on computer.
Is this True??
your thoughts much appreciated, regards,
Andy.
