possible oil cooler failure but also usually gets water in the oil as well..or headgasket..Or very possible some dozy idiot has just put oil in the water expansion bottle.

Unless you are prepared to spend upwards of £500 straight away for parts alone, I'd be looking elsewhere.

If you had a banging headache for a week... how much longer would you leave that?

Smoke alarm doesn't work, batteries dead.. I'll do it next week!

Cut meself, it's started to go green and hurt, I'll leave it a few days to see if it clears up....

You've got until now to late November this year to check your anti-freeze!

the question is how long has it been like this :?:

should be able to get an oil cooler for less than £150 at the very most 2nd hand, then fush the system out with washing up liquid(exellent degreaser) and should be fine, just get it at right price, head gasket is not very likely at all.

Noooo.... ''£450 with everything raplaced with a 2nd hand oil cooler which i was told costs about £380 new....''

Van hire from £29 a day, 450 = about 15 days hire... even the drummer from Def Leppard could have done the repairs in that time!!

In the end it WAS off the road and cost you £450?, not arguing, just stating the obvious!
