A quick tow bar question..

Postby Grovesy » Sun Jan 31, 2010 9:48 pm

Hi im just after a bit of info, i'v searched but haven't found my answer.

Im after a tow bar for my mk6 SWB, And i just want to know what ones will fit mine, and also what the part that bolts on looks like.

Basicall iv seen a few on ebay that say they're for a 2000 onwards, but dont specifically say wether they're for a chassis cab or what?

The 2 different types iv seen have 2 horizontal plate types that bolts on, and the other type has 2 vertical plates for the bolting position.

I just want to know what one im after. I hope my question makes sense lol!

Cheers,

Jamie

Mines a SWB low roof too and my tow-bar is very similar to this one and cost about £100 fitted in Birmingham. The vertical brackets fit to the longitudinal support rails. Make sure they use Ny-lock nuts or it may work loose as mine did.
I drive a T350 LWB MR mk7 for work and a T260 SWB LR mk6 for pleasure, (who doesn't?) S-type 3.0 and a 1959 Norton Dominator. http://www.structural-element.co.uk/

So for the box van type (not a tipper) the brackets are vertical? Thats basically all i needed to know. Is that a definate? As the title of the item says Transit pick up?
