2.0ltr petrol dohc poor starting 1997

i have recently purchased 1997 2.0 ltr petrol dohc ...starting in the morning i have to use the throttle whilst cranking over the engine for wat seems to be a long time before it starts....im unsure as to whether this a problem with one of the sensors..???? as it starts fine rest of day...but does have tendencies to cut out at junctions etc apart from this it runs fine....has anyone else experienced this problem....many thanx

Could be throttle postion sensor playing up???.... does it sometimes die off when you try and accelerate?

no does`nt have any other problems.accelerates fine....i thought it maybe summit to do with cold start eg;-air temp sensor????aint had time to investigate further yet ....

Does sound like cold ctart is not operating, Change the sensor
