fuel filter help asap

Hello, could anyone help me to understand the fuel filter...

This is the filter on my van - 1999 2.5 d lwb hitop



Which pipe is in? and which is the return. Also in this second pic the pipe on the left of the filter has a t junction and feed this bit of the engine? wondered what thats all about.



Sorry if its basic stuff but could do with knowing and a mate has got an identical engine that needs all new piping.

P.s am after 2 of the hard plastic pipe ends that slots into the connector on the fuel filter if anyone has any for sale.

1st pic the feed pipes are on the left side..the return is the right hand fuel pipes..
The T bit is the fuel leak off from the injectors back to the tank

say the feed is on the left side? thats the side the leak of the injectors connects to (t junction). its looks like the feed come to the right side. Just checking

Your right,right hand pipes are feed from lift pump,into filter,out to pump.
Left hand pipes are return,as you say leak off from injectors goes into these.

Where would you find the lift pump then? Is that the first in the chain from the tank?

Lift pump is on n/s of engine near gearbox under exhaust manifold,and yes its first stop after fuel tank
