Where can i find ACC power cable?

Hi All,

does anyone know here i can locate the ACC power cable in my Ford Transit R reg 1998 2.5 van. I have not got the manual or any electrical testing equipment.

Should be a yellow or yellow/green wire that goes from ignition switch to radio. Take the bottom shroud off the steering column and the ignition switch connector is there. That is the switched supply but if you want a permanent live use orange/yellow wire on the cigarette lighter socket.

Thank you very much Timbo. Im trying to install a parking sensor kit. One cable goes to the ACC and the otehr goes to the reverse parking light wire.

When I fitted parking sensors to the back of my van I mounted the control box by the off-side tail lamp and took its supply from the reversing light wire (violet/black at the rear light cluster) and earth. The unit only comes on when you select reverse. It is not usual to power them all the time - unless you are fitting them to the front !

This Kit comes with a mini LED display screen that goes in the front cab do you think this is why it would need seperate power source?

I haven't got a clue to be honest, i gopt a quote of £50 to have it fitted but i thought sod that iv got to try my self...!!

Sounds more like a rear camera set-up in which case use the wire under the steering column then the unit will have power when the ignition switch is in Acc. (radio) or Ign. position but will go off when you take the key out.
