2.5di bosch fuel pump issue

Well its me again...i've found this site so much use today,in particular the posts regarding the torque sleeve/piston by Alanwh and Markm.
What i'm trying to find out at the moment is does anyone have pics/diagrams of this pump showing the relationship of the giude pin at the bottom of the torque sleeve/piston bore.Alanwh mentions that it acts on a lever inside the pump-well mine was sitting happily at the bottom of the piston bore so i can't see how it does anything at the moment!-i noticed a hole at the bottom of the bore,looking like a jet when viewed from above-is this where it lives??-any help on this matter would be really appreaciated.
Also with ref to the post by Markm(feb 16 2006)-is there any side effect on altering the setting on the screw-ie does it give a little more power at the sacrifice of fuel consumption etc?-again any help gratefully recieved-and with an LDV you need all th ehelp you can get!
