What's wrong with your handbrake cable?

I adjusted my handbrake the other day using the treaded bar about halfway under the van, although it made little difference to the handbrake actually stopping the van...

I found a slightly more time consuming but far more efficient way was to strip and clean both rear drums and freeing up the adjusters in there did the trick (I then had to back off the handbrake adjustment I'd just done)

Hope thats of some help

Hi Stuart,
If you clean up and manually adjust the rear footbrake the handbrake will automatically improve the turnbuckle adjuster is only for setting up when fitting a new cable or tensioning a stretched one which is rare.
Gary. :)
