'engine control relay' is and the cost of one?

(ford transit LWB 05 plate) i asked a guy I know to put my van on to the computer to see if it had any faults (warranty is running out ) this was the fault that showed up, but no one knows (so far) what this relay is.

a week or so back the Glow light thingy flashed on and off and I had no revs even thou the van started, the garage fixed that problem.

ps, I've no mechanical experiences myself.

Sounds like your throttle pedal sensor on its way out, when you switch off and restart it then revs as normal but will hold a fault code stored in cpu. Will eventually fail though and you will be left with no accelerator pedal working, just ticks over.

thanks mate, this happened and the garage took it back in, they said something about throttle pedal/sensor and fixed it.

after a fault has been picked up on the computer and fixed, should the van go back on to the computer to remove the fault so it isn't stored??

They should remove the stored fault when the work is completed by them. But ask for peace of mind
