power loss after service

hi
after servicing my tranist I now have severe power loss . places usualy done in 5th gear now needing 4th or even 3rd

2001 transit diesel
75 ps
changed oil fuel and air filters
and oil

no sevice for around 50 000 miles before this

the air filter was in extremely bad shape soggy and congeled

until service she was going like a dream

Is it a late Mk5 or a Mk6? My guess would be air ingress after changing the fuel filter. Course of action depends on your model. Try a search such as:

filter might not be fitted properly and drawing air in through seals. take filter off and make sure its full then refit nice and tight and twist locking ring, this shouldnt have any resistance hardly when locking it in. if it does it means the filter isnt pushed fully home. or pipes may have been knocked and arent seated correctly, try pushing all connectors onto filter head to make sure there sealed.

filter was only 2/3 full so i think its prolly a diesel issue

hi jus to let u know

tried a new genuine diesel filter no change

then took filter of again to try and blow back intake line with air line
discovered rubber fitting from first filter had stayed on the drop pipe from filter head

removed problem solved

back to square one
have since changed filter head and checked fittings but still low on power

no smoke

filter always half empty when i check

no probs starting

If she is drawing air between filter and tank why is she just not drawing only air ?

any help much appreciated
