Dare i ask ~ TRANSIT HEATER RESISTOR

Postby Jon Boy UK - Wales » Wed Mar 31, 2010 6:46 pm

Hello All,

I replaced the TRANSIT HEATER RESISTOR thanks to the info in the forum!

I do have a query though!! What colour wire goes where ?

The three wires are no longer in the blaack connecting block they are loose and each have spade connector on the end

I have tired allsorts of combinations my Heater fan switch works on no 1 and 2 only. I'm woundering if theres a bad connection somewhere...

I would like to know though the definitive answer of what wire goes to what pin?

Could some one draw me a diagram ?

Violet/Yellow
Violet/Blue
White/Green

Kindest Regards,
John Gray

Have you checked if your switch is ok and actually works on position 3. They some times burn out when the resistor is knackered being set to position 3 all the time.

Hello,
All the connections to the switch are ok nothing loose or melted ..As for the number 3 setting i don't recall it ever working on number 3

The switch only worked on just the one speed (number 2 ) before i replace the resisitor now it works on nmber 1 and 2 but not three. Thats why i want to make sure i have the right coloured wire on the right pin before i go on from there.
I was expecting my van to get warmer quicker ... Could it be the thermostat ?

If it never worked on position 3 when the old resistor was in place then the switch is knackered as the resistor only comes into play on positions 1 and 2. Try a new switch.

On my swb where the resistor is under the bonnet the wires are:
With the resistor facing so the single spade connection is at the top and the two at the bottom.
Green/White cable to the top
Purple/Yellow to the bottom left
Purple/Blue to the bottom right
