you found your problem then.....theres a slight bit of difference between the sizes, i would of thought the pistons should be marked up,think its to allow for the original bore machining, when there honed,if the pistons arnt marked up you need to find the bore size, and allow ..0.05 to 0.07.clearance,between piston and bore that will tell you which class of piston to fit....,are you doing the job your self,as there is a couple of other things you may need to check before rebuilding

Not doing it my self have the block stripped down to just the rods and crank in it and leaving it into get stripped and machined at engineering place. Prob best let them sort out pistons i suppose, il put a set in her and polish the crank and set of bearings, think he said he would put a liner in the damaged bore, what else is there to watch? cheers

i think of the top of my head A,B or C is for diferent piston cooling, and the no. afterwards is the size of piston.

can you not just check the original code :?:

no just checked A, B or C is the bore size.

and the no. is to identify level of piston cooling.

winterheating does the protusion come into it or is that from the rods..just thinking of rebuild..if there putting a liner in and honing they will sort piston to suit

as far as i can see its just the rods that alter the protusion.
yeah they'll prb but the liner in and hone it to the piston :?:
and prob best to keep all pistons the same :?:
