2003 ford transit

Hi, i have a 53 plate 2.0ltr diesel fwd transit. i was driving down the road and i splutterd and then stopped. it now wont start at all, it runs on easy start but will not stay running, i put a new fuel filter on it and dropped the tank and cleaned it out and put fresh fuel in there and it still wont start, i have a diagnostic computer and it came up with the faults; crank sensor, and injection timing, and EGR valve, i changed the crank sensor and cleard the faults but it still wont start when its running on easy start and you crack the injectors off they are spraying diesel out, but still wont run on diesel. does anybody know why this is and can anyone help? thanks

not up to speed on these motors to be honest but going off what you have said, done and changed it seems to be looking like the pump,
but I'm sure others on the forum may have had this problem , what i would say is i only ever use easy start to crank up a f*%ked engine and to prove a point which you seem to have done, when cranking the engine over without easy start is it pumping smoke out the exhaust and if so is it whitish if so this would be pointing to unburnt fuel and may be a timing issue or the pump also will it try to start as this my be the fuel solenoid playing up ,good luck

Hi, no smoke and no firing, but i have got the pump off now and have sent it away to be looked at, i will keep people on here update, as im sure im not the only one with this problem.
