duratorq engine

Postby dzlpwrd » Wed Mar 31, 2010 8:03 pm

i have a little project and i am in need of assistance. i just recently purchased a 2.4l duratorq engine. the problem that i have is that i am in the united states. i have not had much luck finding information about this engine. i have found some info thru wikipedia but not much about where to get parts. the engine is brand new still in the crate. i plan to install it in my toyota landcruiser fj40 project. i need to know where i can find the rest of the pieces that i need. i believe that i will need to find an E.C.U.,starter,bell housing, and most likely the throttle assembly. any information would be greatly appreciated. thank you for your time.

mabey this will help, i looked on the engine and found the model number it is V184 135CR. the model is ZSD424, under the BUILD NO. IPE NO.6410. on wikipedia it states v184 is rear wheel drive, the engine is equipped with a pressure plate and clutch disk. it has a large plug comming from around where the fuel pump is located. the plug has a bolt in the center to keep it in place, i need the rest of the wiring that this plugs into; the ecm i believe.i am very excited to get this engine ready to run if you have any ideas where i might find electronic parts for this i would like to know about it.

so is the fuel pump on :?:

the plug with 10mm bolt in middle should be the end of engine loom :?: :?: to connect to engine bay loom complete with fuse holder, then this connects to dash loom, which will need to be connected to cluster if its digital and the key transponder reader. oh and the throttle pedal wires, (9 i think), all them would defo be required.
i'm sure you could just connect them wires up j back to the pcm just to run engine.
think only a couple of things needed on ''engine bay loom''(t-map sensor defo) for engine to run so could your own wires again.

this engine is going into my 1973 toyota landcruiser fj40. the engine is common rail and i believe it to be around 2004. my fj has no wires that will conncet to this engine. i need to find a salvage yard or someone that would have a wrecked transit or any other vehicle that would have this engine that i could get the wiring from. thank you
