could i replace ignition barrel +key if i have the pats ecu

my key is badly worn and i have no red key

i have a van for parts with the red key

if i change the patrs pats ecu barrel key will the van start ok

our there any other parts that need changing

or will it require reprograming

i know about the under the dash quick fix but is nice too still have security

if im right u would have to change the injector pump too

Depends on the year

If both vans have a 3 wire multiplug on the back of the injection pump it would work if you swap the ignition barrel, the pats module and the rim module (bit the wires lead to behind the big steel plate) on the back of the injection pump.

If both injection pumps dont have multiplugs then just swapping the pats module and the ignition barrel will work.

If one has a multiplug and one doesnt you would have to swap the whole dash/underbonnet loom from the donor in to your current van

or fit the other vans barrell and tape your old key to the pats coding bit on the ignition barrell..make sure you leave the pats bit away from other pats keys..
there is another way but as your post count is low i doubt anyone will let on..
or the more expensive way..get a new key cut and get it cloned..

Swap out barrels/keys, then swap out chips :!: Simples :D
