VV Carb Overhaul

Hi, the 2ltr Pinto petrol engine in my camper is slow to speed up when driving. It is fitted with a VV carb, The engine has had a full overhaul a few thousand miles ago so I know general condition is fine. I think the carb may need overhauling. Does anyone know if the service kits that fit mk3 escort vv carbs can be used on the tranny or can suggest a better carb as a replacement.
