there is probs with the glow plug light flashing on and off but i know it was damp as we jet washed the cab but if you turn it on and off quickly this stops and it runs fine but more importantly what does this wire do?? cant work it out as every thing else works fine.
Cheers,mat

The broken wire is the fuse for the glowplugs, one or more of the glowplugs is knackered, but I wouldn't worry about them as most MK6 will start no problem with out them, as for the glowplug light flashing, thats indicating an engine management fault, you need to get it plugged in and get the fault codes read

Yes, the wire is the fuse. The flashing glow plug light isn't related to the burnt wire, that's probably been like that a while. As already said you will need to have it plugged in to read the fault codes.
