what engine model/type

opel 2.3 diesel engine fitted in early ford transits and bedford cf vans/campers
i know i havent got any information or numbers but does anyone know what model or vehicle these engines are from ???
also what sort of mpg could one expect from this sort diesel ?? are the gutless ??

Opel engine in a Transit, are you sure :? :?:

I think he might be getting mixed up with the Perkins 4/99 and 4/108 that was used in both the Ford Transit and the Bedford CAs and CFs :idea:

Ford went from the Perkins 4/108 to the York 2.4 before going 2.5Di

And Bedford CFs went from the Perkins 4/108 to the Opel 2.1 before going to the 2.3 :)

ALL non turbo diesels were reliable and gutless :wink:
