I have 6 seats in my minibus (listed this way on the log book), but have found that I can get my insurance for £80 less by only having 5. Now, my question before I change the seats to 5 is; can I leave the 6 seats in there and only use 5, or do I have to have change it to 5 seats?

Reason I ask is a friend has suggested that I can have 6 but only use 5 and this will be ok for the insurance, but I think he is wrong - 5 is 5 and 6 is 6 whether you use them all or not. Can anyone confirm either way?

If it has 6 seats then it is a 6 seater, if you want it to be 5 then you will need to change it to 5.
