ASM downshift lag

Postby doranp5656 » Sun Jul 25, 2010 10:17 am

Hello all, I am new to this so I hope I get it somewhere near right first time up. I have a 2005 VJ transit fitted with the 2.4 duratorque diesel. I bought the vehicle 2nd hand with 165000 kilometers on it and knew then that I was up for a new clutch etc. which has been done. The vehicle runs well around the suburbs but after a run along the expressway with continuous driving at say 100kph, for anything over 10 minutes, the transmission is reluctant to change down. I use the manual tabs on the steering wheel and do it that way. I would be grateful for any advice on this issue.
