ford transit headlamps..very dull light

HI . I HAVE A MK6 TRANSIT AND SINCE I HAVE OWNED IT , THE DIP/FULL BEAM DOESNT SEEM TO BE VERY BRIGHT , IN FACT ITS SO DULL I HAVE TO HAVE FULL BEAM ON AND MY HEADLAMPS SET TO 4 ON THE SWITCH TO BE ABLE TO SEE , THE DIP IS WORSE THAN A CANDLE , ANY ADVICE GRATEFULLY RECIEVED,

Unless fully loaded it shoulg be set at 0 (zero).

Could be as simple as crappy bulbs. Could be wiring. Could be dirty lenses. etc.

Cheap bulbs are SH!TE...

lenses are fine ,bulbs are brand new , maybe wiring , i will check it out , had them on 4 so i could use main beam as dip , cheers for the help bud

Don't know much about MK6's, but check the earths and connections to bulbs as they sit in a fibreglass panel. Even add a temporary earth, then go to lighting switch and check connection there

But if he did that with the full beam on he'd blind oncoming drivers.

Sounds like the circuit could be at fault then. A bad earth, or a damged wire earthing onto something it shouldn't be touching?? It could be easier to just replace the wire(s) rather than find the fault.
