MK2 Brakes

Just rebuilding the front brakes on the mk2 van and was wondering if they are the same as the UK spec vans

My van has solid type disc's and lockheed twin piston callipers they kinda look the same as mk3 cortina callipers

Is there any callipers that have a bigger pad area that will bolt on

there seems to have been a couple of different ones used, and also a couple of different styles in relation to the systems used (ie how many hoses connected, for different split systems)

mine are 4 pot (pistons) single hose connection, and if i remember correctly the discs are radially vented, because had to split my old calipers to get the spacer block out from between the 2 halfs.
That said, i dont know if the pads are any bigger, i would guess that in acutal pad area there is very little to chose between them as this will be governed by the actual disc diameter

My van is a 125

Is it possible to fit the vented disc's to the solid disc hub as my hubs have been modified for a 114.3 pcd

Also will the 4 piston callipers bolt to the twin piston calliper mount?

I really need to upgrade the brakes on this thing as Im towing my cortina race car around with it

Yeah, same here 190 with a 4 pot caliper and vented disks. The little uns have solid discs.

Mine has solid discs and M16 (cortina looking) caliper SWB camper no idea what weight it is
